Sustainability
Commitment to zero waste and sustainable practices.
Recycling at Bathgate Flooring
At Bathgate Flooring, we are committed to recycling and sustainability. We segregate waste such as steel, paper, plastic, and polyester for recycling or energy recovery, ensuring no manufacturing waste goes to landfill.
We also recycle site waste and off-cuts, repurposing steel and wood, and using sawdust to heat our factory via a biomass burner.
We hold FSC® Chain of Custody certification (Certificate No. INT-COC-002106), guaranteeing our materials are sustainably sourced. We only purchase particle board from FSC® certified sources within the EU, maintaining this chain of custody to the end user.
Implementing Sustainability Throughout Our Business
Our Low Carbon Green Panel
Our Green Panel is a natural extension of our sustainability commitment.
It offers the same trusted Bathgate performance with a significantly reduced environmental footprint.
Our Carbon Footprint
Managing our carbon footprint is crucial. We consider our environmental impact in manufacturing, premises, and transport.
Our Permaflor raised access flooring meets business and environmental standards, holding FSC® Chain of Custody and ISO 14001 certifications.
Our facility features a dust extraction system that channels sawdust to a biomass furnace, heating the factory and reducing carbon fuel reliance. We use recycled materials in our panels and recycle all production and office waste. We prioritise recycling wherever possible. Our Clean Air Biomass Burner processes sawdust, heating the factory and nearly eliminating carbon fuel use.
