Stunning New Community Building in London

Bathgate Flooring Ltd is proud to have been the raised access floor company for this remarkable new community building in London.

A raised floor system was selected for this project to ensure full access to cables and services within the flooring, providing the greatest flexibility for the long-term functionality of any commercial building. The remarkable design was created by Sheppard Robson Architects, who won a design competition in 2005 to create this building. The site was developed by Linkcity, with their sister company Bouygues UK serving as the main contractor.

 

The Project

Bathgate Flooring was appointed to manufacture, supply, and install over 10,000 m² of PSA steel encapsulated panels to create the raised floor system across seven floors. The completed building is stunning and commands a real presence within Hounslow town centre. So much so that the project was shortlisted for the New London Architecture Awards 2019.

The seven-storey structure comprises public-facing amenities on the ground floor, including a library, adult learning facilities, and a registrar’s office on the first floor. Above these are four floors of office spaces for the council, with the civic chamber positioned on the top floor.
